FangRong's Hydraulic Six Dies Pointing Machines are built for tube pointing where the material, wall thickness and forming load leave little room for uneven deformation. Six hydraulic dies work around the tube at the same time, making this configuration particularly suitable for thin-wall tubes and high-strength alloys. The FR-40, FR-80 and FR-150 cover pointing diameters from φ6 mm to φ150 mm, with applicable wall thicknesses of 0.5–5.0 mm.
With only a few forming directions, difficult materials can place uneven loads on the tube end during pointing. The six-die arrangement increases the number of forming points around the circumference, allowing the reduction to take place progressively from multiple directions. This is useful when processing materials such as titanium and nickel-based superalloys, as well as thin-wall tubes that require careful control of deformation.
The forming result depends on more than the number of dies. Die geometry, reduction, hydraulic pressure, tube dimensions and material condition all need to be matched to the actual process. For this reason, FangRong configures the pointing system according to the customer's tube specification rather than treating one die setup as suitable for every application.
The FR-40 is designed for pointing diameters of approximately φ6–40 mm, while the FR-80 covers φ20–80 mm. For larger tubes, the FR-150 extends the working range to approximately φ30–150 mm. Across the series, wall thickness can range from 0.5 to 5.0 mm.
Depending on the model, cylinder dimensions extend from approximately φ160 × 100 mm to an inner cylinder diameter of φ480 mm, with pump motor power from 5.5 to 30 kW. The appropriate machine is selected according to tube diameter, wall thickness, material strength, reduction requirements and production volume.
Pointing high-value alloy tubes requires stable control throughout the forming cycle. The hydraulic system uses PLC control to monitor die position and hydraulic pressure in real time, giving operators direct control over the main forming parameters and making repeated production cycles easier to manage.
FangRong supplies the six-die pointing machine as a customized piece of process equipment. Die configuration and machine parameters can be developed around applications such as aerospace titanium tubes, superalloy components and nuclear-related tubing. Where pointing is followed by dimensional reduction, the machine can also be incorporated into a complete line with a Cold Drawing Machine.
