FangRong's Rotary Swager Machines are designed for reducing and forming the ends of tubes and rods before cold drawing or other downstream operations. The rotary swaging process uses multiple high-speed hammer dies to progressively reduce the material, producing a compact and uniform pointed section while maintaining good concentricity. The FR-25/76/100 series is suitable for different tube and rod sizes through interchangeable base molds.
Rotary swaging provides a fast method for preparing tube and rod ends without removing material by cutting. The four-die hammering action applies repeated radial forming forces around the workpiece, allowing the material to be reduced evenly from different directions. This makes the process suitable for tube pointing, rod pointing and end reduction before cold drawing.
The forming process can produce a controlled taper while keeping the reduced section closely aligned with the original workpiece. Proper die selection and guide support are important for maintaining concentricity, especially when processing longer or thinner tubes. The machine is also designed for quick die changes and relatively simple maintenance, helping reduce preparation time between different product sizes.
FangRong's FR-25/76/100 Rotary Swager Machines use four high-speed rotating hammer dies. Depending on the model and base mold configuration, the maximum shrinking diameter ranges from φ25 mm to φ100 mm, while the minimum diameter can range from φ3 mm to φ10 mm. The machines operate at spindle speeds of approximately 220–238 r/min, with spindle motors from 4 kW to 15 kW and mold lengths from 60 mm to 118 mm.
The FR-25 processes workpieces from approximately φ6–25 mm, with a minimum pointing diameter of φ3 mm, a 4 kW spindle motor and a machine weight of about 1,200 kg. The FR-100 handles approximately φ10–100 mm materials, with a 15 kW spindle motor and a machine weight of about 2,500 kg. Precision guide sleeves and hardened hammer dies support stable material positioning and uniform radial reduction.
Rotary swagers are commonly used for automotive tubes, bicycle frame tubing, furniture tubes, metal rods and other drawn products that require reduced or pointed ends. The suitable model depends on the starting diameter, material, required reduction, pointed length and downstream drawing process.
For complete tube and bar processing, FangRong can integrate the rotary swager with its Cold Drawing Machines and Straightening Machines. This allows pointing, drawing and straightening to be planned as one production route, with tooling and machine configuration matched to the finished product requirements.
