FangRong's Hydraulic Three Dies Pointing Machine is designed for tube and bar end reduction where stable clamping and balanced forming force are important. Three hydraulic dies close around the workpiece at the same time, applying radial force from multiple directions and forming the end section before cold drawing. The FR-25/50/100/160 series covers pointing diameters from φ25 mm to φ160 mm and wall thicknesses from 3 mm to 12 mm.
The main difference from a single-die pointing arrangement is the way the forming force is distributed around the workpiece. The three dies close simultaneously, helping keep the material centered during reduction and reducing uneven deformation. This is useful when processing relatively heavy sections or higher-strength materials where stable forming conditions are required.
FangRong's three-die configuration uses an upper hydraulic cylinder with a diameter of φ250–φ380 mm and two side cylinders of φ180–φ250 mm. Depending on the model, the total clamping force reaches approximately 125–300 T. Interchangeable die sets with different compression angles allow the pointing process to be adjusted to different starting sections, materials and reduction requirements.
The FR-25/50/100/160 series is available for different tube and bar sizes, with machine power ranging from 15 kW to 30 kW. The applicable pointing range is approximately φ25–φ160 mm, with material wall thicknesses of 3–12 mm. The actual die configuration and forming conditions should be selected according to the workpiece diameter, wall thickness, material strength and required pointed length.
The hydraulic system provides controlled die movement and clamping pressure throughout the pointing cycle. This makes the machine suitable for production where repeatable end preparation is required before a subsequent drawing operation, while the interchangeable dies provide flexibility when production specifications change.
Three-die hydraulic pointing is commonly used to prepare automotive shaft bars, oil pipes, aerospace fasteners and other metal products that require a reduced end for die entry. For demanding materials and larger sections, correct die geometry and reduction control are particularly important to avoid excessive local deformation or cracking.
FangRong can combine the pointing machine with its Cold Drawing Machines and Straightening Machines to form a complete processing route. Pointing prepares the workpiece for drawing, cold drawing controls the final section and dimensions, and straightening provides the required straightness for the finished product. Equipment and tooling can be configured around the material, starting dimensions and production requirements.
