Automatic Chamfering Machine is designed for continuous end processing of metal bars and rods. FR-15, FR-20 and FR-30 cover different hex rod and hex bar sizes from φ4 mm to φ30 mm, with working lengths of 2-4 m and speeds up to 25 pcs/min. The machine combines feeding, positioning, chamfering and unloading, and can be integrated with cutting, cold drawing and rewinding lines.

An Automatic Chamfering Machine is used to prepare the ends of metal bars before the next manufacturing operation. By removing sharp edges and forming a controlled chamfer, it makes bars easier to feed, position, thread, assemble, or process in subsequent equipment.

For production lines handling 2-4 m long bars, manual end chamfering can become a separate bottleneck. Why Bar-End Chamfering Matters in Production

Chamfering is not simply a finishing step. The condition of the bar end affects how the material enters a die, fixture, threading tool, CNC machine, or assembly station. A controlled chamfer can provide a more consistent entry condition and remove sharp edges left by cutting.

This becomes more important when the same bar specification is processed in large quantities. If operators position and chamfer each workpiece manually, differences in angle, chamfer size, workpiece positioning and handling speed can accumulate over a production shift. From Bar Feeding to Finished End

The Automatic Chamfering Machine starts with automatic feeding of the bar into the processing area. The workpiece is positioned and held before the chamfering operation begins. What to Confirm Before Ordering

For a suitable machine configuration, the important information is the bar material, cross-section, diameter or across-flats dimension, working length, required chamfering condition and expected production volume. If the machine needs to connect with an existing cold drawing, cutting, conveying or rewinding system, the layout and transfer requirements should also be considered.

How the Machine Is Built and Checked

Production starts with inspection of steel plates, structural components, motors, reducers, bearings and hydraulic or pneumatic components. The machine frame is then cut, welded and formed according to the engineering design, followed by stress-relief treatment where required.

Key components such as shafts, fixtures, rollers and cutting-tool-related parts are precision-machined with CNC equipment. After machining, parts receive the required surface treatment before mechanical, electrical and hydraulic or pneumatic systems are assembled.

Before shipment, the completed machine is run and adjusted under simulated working conditions. FAQ 

What bar sizes can the FR-15, FR-20 and FR-30 process?

The FR-15 covers hex rods from φ4-14 mm and hex bars from φ6-12 mm. FR-20 covers hex rods from φ8-18 mm and hex bars from φ10-16 mm. FR-30 covers hex rods from φ10-30 mm and hex bars from φ14-28 mm. The standard working length is 2-4 m.

What is the maximum production speed?

FR-15 and FR-20 have maximum speeds of 18-25 pcs/min, while FR-30 operates at 16-20 pcs/min. Actual production speed depends on the material, workpiece dimensions and selected processing configuration.

Can the Automatic Chamfering Machine process materials other than carbon steel?

The machine is primarily configured for metal bar processing, including carbon steel applications. Material compatibility should be confirmed according to the actual workpiece, dimensions and required chamfering condition before ordering.
